KAKAMEGA REVENUE AGENCY PARTNERS WITH TUPANDE TO BOOST REVENUE COLLECTION
The Kakamega County Revenue Agency (KCRA) in collaboration with Tupande Organization (One Acre Fund) Friday held a consultative meeting aimed at exploring areas of partnership to boost revenue collection in Kakamega County.
The County Chief Revenue Administrator (CRA) Eng. Joseck Maloba appreciated Tupande, the County’s highest single business permit payer, for being tax compliant and consistent; and disclosed that the Agency will centralize invoicing for the organization’s business outlets to streamline operations. KCRA is currently in the process of invoicing the 2025 traders business permits.
The forum saw participants review the KCRA November 2024 performance which reported a revenue collection of Ksh. 588.7 Million against a target of Ksh. 818.8 Million, indicating a 72 percent performance target and highlighting a 129 percent growth compared to the Ksh. 257.2 Million collected in November 2023.
During the forum, the CRA signed of Performance Contracts with all Senior Revenue Officers and directed them to enhance accountability and performance objectives as envisioned by Governor Fernandes Barasa’s agenda. Challenges affecting revenue collection were also addressed.
In attendance were Ms. Purity Chebet from Tupande, Sub-County and Senior Revenue Officers and other key KCRA staff.
