KAKAMEGA REVENUE AGENCY ON COURSE WITH DEVELOPMENT OF A STRATEGIC PLAN
Key stakeholders at the Kakamega County Revenue Agency (KCRA) led by the Agency’s Board Chairperson Dr. Martin Mudambo and the Chief Revenue Administrator (CRA) Eng. Joseck Maloba on Monday held a consultative forum convened to develop the 2023-2027 KCRA Strategic Plan in preparation for realization of autonomy status by the Agency.
According to the Chairperson, the Strategic Plan is a critical component towards achieving the objectives of the Agency. Once operationalized, the document will maximize revenue collection and ensure compliance by taxpayers providing them with clear and accessible information through the relevant platforms; such as Information Educational Communication (IEC) materials, audiovisuals and digital platforms.
The CRA emphasized that the other purpose of the review is to align the document with the highly anticipated attainment of autonomy status by the Agency, incorporation of Governor Fernandes Barasa’s six point agenda as well as addressing existing revenue collection gaps.
During the meeting, the Directors signed important legal documents which will be submitted to the Business Registration Service (BRS), the custodian of information and data for all entities registered in Kenya. The Agency is seeking to be incorporated as a Limited Company allowing it to operate autonomously. KCRA already has an existent Seal and Corporate colours.
The forum which will also review the County revenue potential and current trends was attended by all KCRA Directors, County Legal Officer Mr. Justus Wabuko and staff from the Agency.
