Kakamega County Revenue Agency (KCRA) is making significant strides in improving its revenue collection processes by actively engaging key stakeholders such as taxpayers, revenue officers and drivers, all of whom are integral to enhancing revenue streams.

A key capacity-building forum was held on Thursday where Dr. Martin Mudambo, the KCRA Board Chairman and Eng. Joseck Maloba the Chief Revenue Administrator, emphasized the critical role of drivers in achieving the County’s ambitious Ksh 3.3 Billion revenue target. Dr. Mudambo reminded the participants, mainly the drivers attached to the revenue unit, that their role is pivotal in facilitating the movement of revenue personnel, which directly impacts the County’s revenue collection efforts.

In his address, Dr. Mudambo further underscored the importance of adhering to performance contracting tools and aligning efforts with Governor Fernandes Barasa’s six-point agenda to improve overall service delivery.

CRA Eng. Maloba on his part stressed the significance of following government protocols, noting that the participatory forum serves as an essential platform for collecting feedback from attendees, which is crucial for refining processes and policies.

Board Director Imelda Odongo took the attendees through training on conflict resolution, mediation, work relations and disciplinary procedures, all of which are vital for maintaining harmony and efficiency in the workforce.

Through such structured engagements, KCRA is creating a platform for continuous improvement in its service delivery while fostering a collaborative approach to achieving the County’s revenue goals

Also present at the forum were Human Resource Officer Ms. Jackline Otsieno and other KCRA personnel.
