KAKAMEGA ON COURSE TO REALIZING REVENUE TARGET
Kakamega County is on track to achieving its ambitious Ksh 2.2 billion revenue target, thanks to the strong backing of Governor Fernandes Barasa’s administration. This progress was highlighted during a revenue performance review forum held on Monday by the Kakamega County Revenue Agency (KCRA).
The forum, attended by the County Executive Committee Member for Finance, Economic Planning, ICT, E-Government and Communication, Mr. Benjamin Andama, saw revenue officers challenged to intensify their efforts as the 2024/25 financial year nears its end.
Mr. Andama emphasized the County’s commitment to expanding its revenue base, noting that plans are underway to grant the Agency autonomy, an important step expected to significantly boost revenue collection. He also announced that additional officers will soon be deployed to support the Agency’s efforts.
CRA Director Eng. Joseck Maloba urged revenue officers to adhere to the principles of taxation and uphold Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution, which outlines leadership and integrity standards for public officers.
